Data Community
The cloud architecture, data workflows, and data-lake capabilities of the Cirrus platform provide users with readymade data sharing capabilities. Panasonic has a patent pending for innovative data management functionality. Data held in the data community isn’t limited to connected vehicle information. DOTs, Universities, other agencies, fleets, and even private partners can store and access data in the community through various shared use models. User access and data access control systems ensure that data is only available to authorized users for authorized purposes.
DOT systems information can be stored in Cirrus and made available on-request to any party the DOT wants to work with. This sharing mechanism supports third party tool and system development, policy-based data provision, a data marketplace, and more. These capabilities combined with support for an “app store” creates a foundation by which transportation agencies and data community members can create novel applications and features, and ensures that these developments are available and able to benefit the system, users and even the traveling public.
